Whistling Jacks is a barn conversion sleeping 14 people. Nestling in the tiny hamlet of Rottington, Whistling Jacks is a 10 minute walk across the rolling fields from the coastal village of St Bees. The barn provides very spacious accommodation for family celebrations or just a get together to enjoy the tranquillity of the Cumbrian coast and fells. In carrying out the high standard renovation, the owners have preserved the character of the building which features exposed beams, an oak staircase, wooden floors, a tall Scandinavian wood burner, luxurious sofas and possibly the largest en suite bathrooms you have ever seen!

St Bees is famous for being the start of the coast to coast route for walkers and cyclists and boasts dramatic cliffs and stunning beaches. The priory of St Mary & St Bega is one of the oldest church buildings in the country, dating back to 1120. The village has several good pubs and hotels, which serve food.  The sunsets can be quite stunning and on a clear day there are views to The Isle of Man and to the mountains of the Scottish borders.

The historical Georgian maritime town of Whitehaven is a short drive or enjoyable coastal walk from Whistling Jacks. Here you will find shops, supermarkets, places to eat and a lovely marina.

The superb Lakeland scenery of Ennerdale and Wasdale are also just a short drive away, the latter being the starting point for challenging mountain walks including England's highest mountain Scafell Pike. Gentler walks can be taken in the river valley of Eskdale or by Ennerdale or Wastwater.
