What a great historical cottage with lots of original features, if you want something unique and special, this is for you - but watch your head on the low doors and beams! Great location with many walks from the doorstep and a pub (feet) from the property with four other pubs in the valley. Would go back again.

Hi Russ, it really is an amazing cottage, isn't it? I'm thrilled you enjoyed all the original features - and got plenty of walking done too! I can promise you a warm welcome whenever you return.

Lovely, characterful cottage. Boot village is very picturesque and a fantastic place for walking. The house has very comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The garden is very pretty and you can hear the rush of the river beside the house. Suggestions: WiFi, especially since there is no mobile phone signal in the village. Also - towels! Lastly, the house was clean, but it's a bit musty downstairs and probably could do with a good spring clean.

HI Victoria, you just can't beat a nice bit of character in a cottage, can you? Fabulous to hear how much you enjoyed exploring Boot. Thank you for your other comments, which I promise I will investigate. Here's to relaxing in the garden next to a babbling beck!

Whillanside could be a wonderful place and ought to score 9 or 10 for every category. However, the kitchen utensils and implements were not clean, the ensuite shower was weak and leakey and most importantly, it had no wifi. If these issues were dealt with we would certainly book it again as it is a charming property.
