- The Whent Cottage provided a comfortable accommodation for us three and we are happy to recommend this to a couple/small family. We would have liked it if they provided few more basic things as in more plates, oven gloves and bin liners. The plates and bowls were generally too big to be stored in smallish cupboards, and when we got there we found the main kitchen bin wasn't emptied and there was no bin liner provided. Also this bin is one of those heavy duty (tall with a heavy metal frying pan shaped lid with a foot pedal) that unfortunately didn't operate properly and it was very dirty and smelly. However, the house is within an hour of travelling anywhere in the west side of the Lake District. We managed to stretch to Buttermere, Ennerdale and to Wastwater as well as enjoying the local scenery.

Hi Yuko, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? It sounds like you manged to fit a lot in and visited some beautiful parts of the Lake District while you were here.
I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement, thank you. I apologise that the bin had not been emptied before your arrival, I'll make sure that is addressed with the cleaners.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
