- This is a nice cottage although it does have 2 largish issues, one is clear from the description the other not so.
Says parking for a "small car only" whereas I would say you would have to have a very small car indeed to be able to get it in front of this cottage. I was aware of this before arrival and I have a big car so no real problem, it costs £28 a week to put in public car park. The cottage only has a small frontage but there were two bushes that could be removed to make a more practical car parking area.
Second issue is there is no upstairs toilet, which I did find very inconvenient for those night time trips to the loo. Yet there is a shower in the main bedroom, not sure of the logic of prioritising a shower over a toilet and sink which would seem to me to have been a more practical proposition.
Other than the above the cottage is well specified with comfortable beds, a modern well specified kitchen, a large panty and decent downstairs bathroom with over the bath shower. The lounge is a little dated but comfortable enough.
There is no central heating in the cottage, so there was a need to go round switching on electrical radiators at night when it gets cold (as it still does on the coast at this time of year).
The position is superb, in the middle of Ravenglass high street and yet very quiet and close to the beach. I found the locals lovely , always helpful and happy to have a chat.
