Worked well for a week for our family of 4. Comfortable if not luxury. Location wise, good for the northern lakes, but a drive for much past Grasmere. Well equiped.

Thank you Sally’s, we have had a fantastic weeks holiday during Covid. The cottage was very clean. It has a very nice well equipped kitchen . It is very cosy home with lots of nice features. We agree with other reviews the sofa and arm chairs are a little uncomfortable and the shared lawn could do with a cut but overall it is a lovely cottage. Sadly the local pub wasn’t open.
We would recommend this lovely home and we will be back.

We stayed at this delightful, quirky cottage for a week in September and were lucky to have a couple of days of superb weather before the rain set in. We had a great week of walking in the northern fells and loved returning to the peace and tranquility of the cottage. Everything we needed was provided, including the best equipped kitchen we have ever found in our many years of renting. As others have said, the sofa in the living room is a little uncomfortable (especially with aching muscles from hiking), but this would not put us off from returning. The only thing we had a problem with was lighting the log burner. I’m sure this was just due to our inexperience but maybe the owner could provide some idiot proof instructions? The cottage has a shared strip of garden at the rear which one of the neighbours allows their young dog to use but we didn’t mind this and whilst we were there the grass was clean. There is a private garden area also which was nice to relax in. It is a very rural area and comes with associated sounds and smells so bear this in mind if you are not used to country life. It is ideally located for exploring the Northern Lakes and coast, which are all easily reached by car. A great find!
