Wasdale View is a fabulous self catering holiday cottage offering comfortable accommodation, which is perfect for families.
With uninterrupted views of the Wasdale fells, the cottage is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the high fells or along the banks of the River Irt that flows past the pub at Santon Bridge.
The Santon Bridge Inn is a ten minute stroll down the lane. It hosts the International “Greatest Liar” competition towards the end of the year and serves good food and fine ale. The magnificent valley of Wasdale is just a five minute drive, boasting England's deepest lake, the highest mountains of Scafell and Scafell Pike and the delightful church of St Olaf's which is thought to be the smallest in England.
Eskdale is another beautiful valley, a five minute drive in the other direction. The popular La'al Ratty steam railway travels for seven scenic miles to the coastal fishing village of Ravenglass, taking in the sights of the spectacular mountain scenery along the way.
