This is a beautiful large farmhouse with 6 good size bedrooms. We visited during the pandemic, so there were only our family bubble of 4 staying which meant we had lots of space and choice of bedrooms. All bedrooms were of a good size and there was a mixture of single/double beds that can be adapted on request. One en-suite bathroom and two separate bathrooms with bath and/or shower. The only slight negative is that all bathrooms were upstairs which may make staying with older/less able family member an issue. Beds that we used were all very comfortable. Huge kitchen area with full size fridge/freezer and a Range cooker too. We couldn’t find the instructions for the cooker, but managed to work them out after a while. Lots of utensils, in fact everything you should need to cook a Christmas dinner (which we did!) A welcome gift of chocolates & fizz was provided which was a lovely touch. 2 x lounge areas downstairs, each with their own TV which would be useful with a large group. There didn’t appear to be a HDMI lead to connect the second tv, but this didn’t affect our stay at all. Lovely coal fires in both rooms if required, but the heating is very good and they were rarely required.
Wifi we found was very good in the main and we were able to connect our devices to one of the two routers and stream sport etc. Phone signal isn’t great indoors, but if you’re connected to whatsapp and speak that way it’s not an issue at all.
Large garden outside which is amazing for those with dogs. It’s not secure though, so need to be aware if you have dogs that roam. Small dogs can get under the gate, which our little one did on the first day. Great little entrance part to the farmhouse where you can dry off wet dogs and leave your boots, dog leads etc. There is also a washing machine/dryer which would be great for longer stays.
Great location and not far from the main road, but you wouldn’t know it as it’s so peaceful and quiet. We didn’t go far, but lovely walks from the door and the road nearby very quiet too. Fantastic views of the mountains. Working farm nearby and was great to watch the sheep/farmers at work.
Would love to return in Summer months, highly recommended.

Hi Julie, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's the perfect place to get away from it all isn't it?
The location is ideal if you enjoy getting out for some good walks, and the cottage is lovely and cosy to come home to after a day out in the fresh Lakes air.
I hope you can plan a return visit some time, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

A bit scruffy in parts but a comfortable house with a lovely old sitting room, which is divided from the snug only by a wooden screen.

We had a wonderful family gathering for an 80th Birthday. Well equipped house and spacious garden . Half of grill didn’t work.
I felt kitchen floor was very dirty . I have a tiled floor at home and it is easily cleaned.
We found the recycling provision for bottles and cardboard non existent.
3bags from previous guests lay at the gate all week together with 2 boxes of bottles.
We took all our recycling home to Scotland.

Hi Rhoda, thank you for your comments which I will be raising with the maintenance teams - I'm sorry things were not as you would have hoped. It sounds like a wonderful family gathering and I hope you all have lots of marvellous memories to share.
