If you'd like a break in the heart of lovely Keswick while being within easy walking distance of magnificent natural surroundings then why not head to the warm, welcoming and stylish surroundings of Wainwrights Loft? It's a wonderful first floor apartment for two with its own designated parking space, a quiet roof terrace and a beautifully appointed interior. Whether you'd like to stroll around the town sampling the retail and foodie delights on offer, head to the mighty peaks or just curl up in front of the wood burner in this romantic apartment then this should be just the elegant bolt-hole you're looking for.

The apartment is named Wainwrights Loft in honour of local legend Alfred Wainwright. Wainwright wrote many books on walking in the Lake District and is best remembered for his pictoral guides to the Lakeland Fells. He wrote about and drew in great detail some 214 fells in 7 volumes, copies of which can be found inside the apartment. These fells have since become known as the "Wainwrights" and many people set themselves the challenge of completing them all - get inspiration by spotting a few of these fells from the apartment itself.

Keswick is a much loved gem of a Lakeland town situated on the shores of picturesque Derwentwater. It's a bustling market town with a wonderful atmosphere where you can indulge your wild side with any number of adventurous outdoor activities or pamper your taste buds with a huge range of eateries offering great local food and Cumbrian real ales. Why not have an early evening dinner then take in a play or concert at the beautifully situated Theatre by the Lake during your stay? It's just a gentle stroll from the apartment, what a perfect way to spend a summer evening. Alternatively enjoy a film at the charming art deco cinema right across the street. You could scarcely be better placed for shopping here with a vast range of outdoor shops, a great choice of independent retailers and even several lovely galleries right on the doorstep.

For the outdoor enthusiasts among you the walking and cycling opportunities are endless. From gentle potters along to the lakeshore to scaling Lake District giants such as Skiddaw, it’s all available straight from the door. For water sports enthusiasts there are several marinas where you can hire all manner of craft for messing about on the water. You could potter down to the lakeshore to catch the Keswick Launch into the jaws of the Borrowdale Valley and take a stroll back rewarding yourself with a pub meal on the way! So for couples or singles with a love of this glorious area then Wainwrights Loft makes a marvellous base.
