Updated and modernised in April 2022, this property is a stylish one-bedroom cottage, this property is a real hidden gem. Tucked away down a small side street a stone's throw from the centre of Keswick, if you're looking for a wonderfully cosy retreat, then this place could be the one for you. It's the ideal spot for a couple or solo traveller who want to have easy access to all of Keswick's delights. The open-plan layout downstairs provides wonderful Scandi-style living accommodation with a compact kitchen and modern breakfast bar for dining. The spacious double bedroom and bathroom are upstairs on the mezzanine floor. Designed with easy living in mind, this cottage really is a lovely bijou retreat.

Beautiful Derwentwater is a 10-minute walk from the cottage and is the perfect place to spend a day at, in or on the water. Find a peaceful spot for a picnic lunch, the well prepared can wild swim or why not hitch a ride on the popular launch for a picturesque cruise around the lake? A trip to the recently refurbished Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is a must for anyone with an interest in local history, or have a game of crazy golf or pitch and putt. With a great choice of pubs and restaurants just a short walk from the cottage door, you could try a different one every night!

Whether you prefer lower level ambles or days out in the fells, there are plenty of walking opportunities in Keswick. Stroll around pretty Fitz Park, just across the road from the cottage, or enjoy a ramble through the trees at Great Wood on the shores of Derwentwater. For a more elevated view of the lake, scramble up Catbells or Walla Crag. Tackle Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain, or try one of the famous horseshoe walks around the Newlands Valley or Coledale for a longer day out on the fell tops.

Head inside this Lakeland stone fronted cottage and straight into the fantastic open plan kitchen-living-dining room, a great Scandi-style space designed with easy living in mind. The modern kitchen area is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, under-counter fridge and handy microwave. Take a seat at the cool breakfast bar, ideal for enjoying morning coffee or a hearty home cooked meal. The two-seater sofa and armchair are positioned around the flame-effect electric fire, perfect for cosy evenings in. There's a SMART TV for entertainment too.

The stairs lead up to the spacious bedroom. With a feature metal-framed double bed and wall mounted TV, it's the perfect spot to indulge in a long lie in with your morning cuppa. There's plenty of storage thanks to the useful wardrobe and handy chest of drawers. Also on the first floor is the bathroom. With a WC, washbasin and bath with shower over, whether you prefer a long soak in the tub or a refreshing shower all tastes are catered for here.

Even though the cottage doesn't have its own garden area, with Keswick on your doorstep, the Lake District National Park offers you plenty of fabulous outdoor space!

We enjoyed our stay, purely because the cottage was in the centre of Keswick. Although it was down a rather dingy back road. Ideal for two people and quite cosy on a cold night. However the bed needs replacing, never uncomfortable and so was the the little two seater sofa, which is not what you want after walking the hills all day.

Kitchen needs some TLC, updating & a good clean & it lacked some essential equipment. Sofa & the bed were very uncomfortable! Not having any off road parking meant you had to find somewhere down one of the little roads. However it was a great location for the lovely town with great shops & coffee houses.

Sadly, despite its ideal location we were disappointed with Victoria cottage. It felt grubby and neglected. The kitchen is damp and dingy with a leaking mixer tap. Crockery is minimal, some items cracked or chipped. Seating in the lounge not comfortable for taller people. Water leaked through the chimney onto the electric fire. Bathroom radiator noRead moret working so cold and damp in there, fixed finally 2 days before we left. Carpet grubby upstairs. Could be a sweet little place with some TLC Hide

Loved Victoria Cottage, great location, clean and perfect size for the two of us and our dog. We loved the addition of washing up liquid, hand soaps, sponges, tea towels, as other apartments we have stayed in haven't included these.

House was in an amazing location but, felt damp/cold and this was most evident with the floor and kitchen side feeling sticky dispute out best efforts to clean it. Overall we think you are paying for the location over a better standard of cleaning

There should be a warning about the extensive building work outside the front door of the cottage and the outlook resembled a building site. The cottage was cold and the bathroom sink would overflow with taps running. The bed is not comfortable

We enjoyed a nice long weekend in this cosy cottage. Great location for going to Keswick & exploring the lakes. Although there is no parking at the cottage we found street parking. The local park is across the road for walking the dog first thing & last thing. Extremely comfy bed! Cottage layout ensured the space was optimised.
