Upper House is in a great location with stunning views and walks from the front door. The living area is light and spacious - ideal for a group of four adults. The property was very warm and comfortable - important on a couple of wild and wet December days! We looked forward to using the multi-fuel stove, but didn’t actually need to light it as we were warm enough!
The kitchen, though small, is very well equipped and we appreciated there being a shower room, full bathroom and an extra loo. Useful having the porch area for muddy boots too!
We hope to be back at Upper House in 2021!

We have been visiting this property for the last 12 years for family holidays. Due to the virus this was a slightly different sort of break as we did not eat out and were careful where we went avoiding crowded and busy places. Getting away after being trapped in our home for so long was like being released from prison! I can’t think of anywhere I would rather be. We spent a lot of time on the lovely balcony enjoying the sunshine and the breathtaking views of the fells around Derwentwater. Three younger and more agile family members climbed Cat Bells, Skiddaw and Blencathra via sharp edge and had walks in Whinlatter Forest Park and around Aira Force and Ullswater. Home now with happy memories to get us through the winter. My only comment re comfort would be that the duvet is far too large for the double bed and restricts movement in the room. Apart from that everything was perfect.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed a much needed break despite things being a little different this time. It's good to get away for a change of scene isn't it? Especially when you have those amazing views on the doorstep!
Thanks for letting me know about the duvet, I'll look into that. I hope you can look forward to a return visit soon.
