Nice apartment. We knew when we booked we’d have to drive to places. Some bigger pans, a bigger cafetière and a second drying unit woukd be good

Really lovely upstairs flat in a nice quiet village away from the mayhem of Bowness, Ambleside etc. Lindale is a charming place with a nice pub ( The Royal Oak, good food and friendly service ) and a 5 minute drive to Grange for groceries or take-aways. The flat is furnished in an uncluttered modern style, with comfy beds, a great shower, and a well equipped kitchen. The flat's broadband access is a bit flaky as it relies on a (weak) 'Three' 3G mobile network signal, but the O2 mobile signal is good there for internet via your phone. That minor quibble apart, we had a great time there and would definitely recommend!

We were really happy when this flat became available as we had struggled to find anywhere for this summer. We have previously stayed at Highbridge and 2 Low Glenridding which were both just perfect. This one cost a little more but in our opinion was not as good. It lacked all the little touches. I will start with the Pros: Clean and tidy Great shower, hot and powerful Comfortable beds Lovely light fittings in the kitchen Kitchen is well equipped, we took our own bigger pan and cooked all our breakfasts and evening meals Quiet location The cons: Parking is a nightmare. The space opposite (as advertised on the information) is never available as everyone on the street uses it. The bins are in front of the garage and it's padlocked so can't be used. The information book states to keep the place clean and tidy as we found it....how? There is no brush, dustpan, kitchen or bathroom spray. Are guests expected to buy these things or to crawl on knees and pick up crumbs? The couches look very modern but are so uncomfortable. Hard as rocks and no depth to them. I had to pack all the pillows off the bed on it and my husband couldn't sit comfortable at all so he brought the chair in from the bedroom which was slightly better. I've never been so happy to see my couch at home. There is nowhere at all to dry your things after a day walking in rain or being out in the lake. No pegs, dryer or clothes maiden - even though there is a washing machine. Bath towels are provided but I'd recommend bringing your own. The ones provided are small and thin. The WiFi is not worth having, it's more miss than hit. There is netflix on the TV but you can't watch it due to the poor Internet. Finding the flat took us a while. Look for Bell Hill Cottage as the flat is part of this building, its a slightly set back door between the main cottage door and the garage. It could do with a sign over it. The picture on the website is from the back of the building. Only a personal preference but for us it's a little too remote, even though it is a lovely little village. Everything is a drive away, we usually like to have a few days of not using the car. Near by Fell Foot is gorgeous though and we drove there a few times. I'm sure this is the perfect place for some but for us it's not one that we would go back to, due to the things mentioned above.
