We really enjoyed our stay at Underhow Cottage. The location was perfect and the cottage was homely and very comfortable it was a perfect place to spend Christmas. We will certainly look to booking again in the future.

After the disaster called lock down in March we rebooked for October and it worked out great we got to see the lakes in autumn and beat the next lockdown just!
If you want peace and space this is for you! We booked this cottage known it was for 6 but went as a couple with our 2 dogs as we like a bit extra space and we were not disappointed! The cottage has everything you need and I’d happily move in tomorrow The space was great and at times found ourselves a little disorientated moving from room to room! The views are beautiful so I came home with plenty photos! We only used the down stairs while we stayed as there’s a bedroom and bathroom down stairs as well as 2 bedrooms and a shower room upstairs oh and a seated viewing area ! Outside the main door is a covered open seated area for taking off those dirty boots / washing your dogs down with a joined on heated utility room with washer, sink 2nd downstairs toilet and other items you may need while you stay. Garden is beautiful also has a seated bench picnic table under a pergola. The garden is semi secure been bushes plus wire fencing and if you have inquisitive dogs like ours do not leave them alone. The gated entrance to the cottage you need to be mindful of and also the gate behind the garage which backs onto the little steam train station. We spent our time just enjoying the peace and going on walks nearby. The dogs loved the little woods which contain the Japanese gardens but be prepared for a bit of a slippery climb to reach them this time of year! We enjoyed just been out in nature and spent many hours out there. There is also a shop in the village that supplies most things you may need. We were regulars as we were not going to waste that fireplace! Do not miss the coast at Sea scale! you will be lucky if you see anyone! Miles of clean raw coast parking and toilets and a fab park if your taking kids! It is also possible to have a supermarket home delivery to the cottage if you desire. We went well stocked and I honestly enjoyed cooking in that kitchen with the huge dining table and been able to gaze through those cleverly placed windows!
I must not forget there’s a bakery in Gosforth about 8 miles away that sells the most beautiful products ! Do treat yourselves to afternoon teas! You will be back for more guaranteed!
We loved this place so much we did not want to come home! Roll on next time!
