Turners Cottage is a charming little terraced house for two in the quiet village of Spark Bridge. Situated just across the road from the Crake River and just a stone's throw from an excellent local pub it makes a wonderful base to explore the South Lakes and Cumbrian coast.
Guests arrive at the lovely front garden which has three steps down from the gateway. There is a further step down into the cosy living room from the front door where you'll find a shoe rack and hooks for your outdoor bits and bobs . The room is a wonderful welcoming space with a brown leather reclining sofa, a dining table for two, a TV, DVD player and a gorgeous open fire with ornate surround, perfect for snuggling up on chilly evenings. The owners have thoughtfully provided books and local information to keep you entertained and to inspire your outdoor adventures.
Moving through to the back of the cottage is the kitchen. It is equipped with an under-counter fridge with small freezer compartment, a washer-drier, a microwave, a fitted fan oven and induction hob along with all the crockery and cookware you'll need for your stay.
A corner staircase takes you upstairs to the bedroom and bathroom. Along the way take a look at the weaving shuttles in the window recess, clues to the Spark Bridge's textile industry heritage. The bedroom is a gorgeous romantic space with exposed beams, a recessed low window, a standard full length mirror and a double four-poster bed. There is a built-in cupboard and a dresser for storage. Lastly to the spacious bathroom, this has an over-bath electric shower and fresh modern décor.
The outside space is great for making use of whatever sunshine the day brings. The front garden has mature shrubs and a wrought iron dining set for sunny-morning breakfasts. The rear yard is ideal for an evening glass of wine boasting a wonderfully fragrant honeysuckle for those lucky enough to visit in early summer. Just across the road from the house is the village green by the banks of the river Crake. There is a picnic bench there and plenty of scope for a paddle or riverside lunch!
