From the North and South
Exit the M6 at Junction 40
Take the A66 Westbound signposted for Keswick
Stay on this road for about 19 miles, by passing Keswick and Portinscale
Take the second turn off after Keswick for Braithwaite on your left (signed for Lorton, Braithwaite and Newlands Valley)
Continue straight through the village past the Royal Oak Pub
Carry on as the road narrows around a tight bend
You will see a packhorse bridge to your left signposted for the Coledale Inn
Turn left over this bridge then follow the road around to the right
Continue as if you are heading to the Coledale Inn and as you get to the top of the road opposite the green there is a track to your right. Take this and drive behind the cottages, Turncrfot Cottage is number 4 and has a large wooden farm gate (and bright yellow front door).
Park either inside the farm gate on the gravel area or immediately beside the gate on the outside, leaving access. Please be sure to leave the communal turning area beyond the cottage clear of vehicles
If you get to Coledale Gardens (which is the road just before the Coledale Inn) you've gone too far.
