This cosy and comfortable cottage is ideal for a small group of friends or family, or perhaps for a couples' retreat! Despite sitting at the junction between two roads, it has a very relaxed and peaceful feel inside and the lush green garden is a great additional space. The cottage sits near the top of Chestnut Hill and its elevated position means that you can enjoy fantastic views across to Skiddaw and Latrigg. The cottage itself is freshly decorated throughout and has a bright and airy feel. There is a central dining area, offering plenty of space for having a sit down meal or enjoying a cup of tea after a day out exploring. The slate-paved garden has lots of greenery and beautiful flowers and is a nice space for al fresco dining. There is even a raised platform where you can enjoy an evening glass of wine while looking out at the surrounding mountains. Bliss!
A pleasant, 15-minute walk downhill will take you into the centre of bustling Keswick. If you're feeling fit, you can walk back uphill or else catch a bus to right outside your front door! Keswick is a Lake District gem with easy access to Derwentwater and all its water activities, hundreds of walks sprawling out into beautiful countryside, and an array of attractions for both wet and sunny days. When it comes to meals, why not head down Chestnut Hill to the Twa Dogs Inn for a very local pub experience?
Toll Bar Cottage is a delightful, quirky cottage that has all of the modern amenities needed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable!
Please note, the accommodation is laid out over different levels with lots of smaller steps within the cottage. The garden is also tiered and set over multiple levels. With this in mind, the cottage is not able to accept children under 5 years.
