Location of Toffee Cottage
From the North
Exit M6 at Junction 40 and take the A66 Westbound towards Keswick.
Follow the A66 for 12 miles then take the left turn for the B5322 to Thirlmere
This road then joins the A591 to Ambleside
Once in Ambleside follow the one way system until the road splits into two where you take the right lane for the A593 to Consiton and Elterwater
Take the left lane to follow the A593 and follow this for a further 250m
Take the right slip road for the turning to Coniston, Hawkshead and Langdale
Follow the A593 for just over two miles to Skelwith Bridge
Take the right turn on to the B5343 to Elterwater and Langdale
You will reach the village of Chapel Stile in just over 2 miles. Continue through the village until you pass the sign for Baysbrown Farm Campsite on your left.
Take the next right into Thrang Brow, past the terrace of cottages on your left you will see a very steep driveway.
Take this driveway (First gear recommended), once at the top there is a shared parking area to the right. You can unload directly outside the cottage but you will have to move to the shared parking area after that so as not to restrict access.
Toffee Cottage is Number 15 Fir Garth
From the South
Exit the M6 at Junction 36
Take the A590 towards Barrow and Kendal awhich then becomes the A591 and follow this to Ambleside
