We loved our stay at The Retreat. The photos are an accurate representation of the property. The house was very comfortable, well equipped and had amazing views of the fells, fields and sheep! Keswick is also a very short drive away. The village of Thornthwaite is also very pretty and there are a few local pubs in Braithwaite just up the road. The weather was very mixed but this didn't spoil our stay - it would have been lovely though to see the views when it was bright and sunny. We will definitely go and stay there again and would highly recommend this property.

Hello Elaine, Thank you for your lovely feedback. It's a gem of a cottage isn't it? The views are exquisite! You couldn't have picked a better location to explore the beautiful Lakes. I'm thrilled you had a really great stay and I very much look forward to welcoming you back!

Our second visit to The Retreat this year which was as good as the first. Peace and quiet when you want it or many walks just outside the door. Recommended.

We had a lovely family holiday at The Retreat. It was a comfortable, warm and clean cottage with beautiful views. Well located as very close to Keswick and main roads. Kids enjoyed the jacuzzi and wood fire. Towels would have been useful if provided but wasn't much of a problem carrying our own. All other necessities were provided. Plenty of bedding and blankets.
Only 2 downsides- 1. The garden was on different levels, not very usable with children and old people with mobility issues and could be better maintained. 2. The turning into the driveway was narrow and a bit difficult to navigate with our large family car- perhaps a bit of the wall could be taken out to make a larger access? Overall a very good experience for us. Our second booking with Sally's cottages- highly recommend their cottages. Thankyou
