Parking Info

Parking is available at Joss Lane Car Park (Pay & Display), or free on street parking can be found on Back Lane, or Long Lane. Please do not park on New Street as this is a private road There is no parking directly outside the building. We would suggest you unload in New Street just beyond the charity shop then move your car to the public car park on Joss Lane.

General Description

The Penthouse is a delightful second floor apartment in the gorgeous Dales village of Sedbergh. Set amidst architecture unchanged in the last century, this gorgeous apartment has been renovated completely and given a high spec finish to create a stylish 21st Century bolthole. Its second-floor position means that the views look out over Sedbergh's rooftops to the beautiful Howgills which surround the town.

Guests enter the property into a shared stairway with decorative Victorian floor tiles. The door to The Penthouse is on your right on the first floor. Ascending another corner staircase from here to the second floor guests emerge into a stunning double-height space with exposed beams, wooden floors and glorious views. There's a leather corner sofa for snuggling up with a good book and a wall-mounted Smart TV for entertainment. The modern kitchen is built along one wall of the space in stylish blue units. It's well equipped with a built-in fan oven, induction hobs, an eye height microwave, dishwasher and an under-counter fridge and freezer. Added to this there's a modern black dining table and chairs and all the crockery and cookware you'll need for your stay.

The lovely king-size bedroom lies just off the living room. The owners have made the most of the space with ingenious above-bed storage and wall-mounted hooks as hanging space. There's a picture perfect window seat which makes an ideal place for reading a book and watching the gently-bustling world of Sedbergh's "Main Street" go by outside. Within the main living space is a loft-style ladder leading up to the beautiful mezzanine floor. It's separated from the main space by a glass partition and door; it can just be used as a light and airy space to have a read however there are a couple of single sofa beds and a double sofa bed here to accommodate extra people. (Please call the office if you would like to book for more than 2 people to discuss how you would like this configured). Please bear in mind that the mezzanine is open to the living area and there are no curtains. We would suggest that no children under eight are allowed due to the gradient of the staircase.

The modern shower room has a mixer shower in a recessed enclosure and a white suite.
