I spent two weeks at The Old Stables and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ayside is a quiet hamlet and easily accessible from the main road. Lots to see, lakes, mountains etc. Lovely coastal walk at St Bees. Pub 5-10 minutes away in Lindale called The Royal Oak and nearby there is the resort town of Grange Over Sands which has lots of shops, etc, and where you can take a coastal train journey to Carlisle.

Hi David, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break. It's a lovely place to get away from it all isn't it? I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Myself and my friend have stayed here on 2 occasions just this year and we love it. We have every intention on returning again. The location is peaceful, yet not far away from lovely local attractions or beautiful places to visit. A big thumbs up

Lovely cottage, but the hot water is heated by the raeburn and its dangerously hot. The range also heats the small cottage to an uncomfortable level. The actual cottage is lovely and comfortable.
