Tucked away in the hidden hamlet of Ayside, The Old Stables offers a tranquil retreat. This characterful hideaway has been lovingly designed to provide comfort, style and a sense of home. Throughout the cottage you’ll find antique furniture, quirky wallpaper and beautiful finishing touches.
Three miles away you’ll find the village of Cartmel, famed for its racecourse, its Michelin starred restaurant (L’Enclume) and of course home to the famous Cartmel Village Sticky Toffee Pudding – a treat for all of us who have a sweet tooth.
A mile or so further is the coastal retreat of Grange-over-Sands, nestled in the Morecambe Bay, with its promenade, parks and shops.
Less than 10 minutes drive in the opposite direction is Windermere Lake – take a trip on on one of the Lake Steamers, or walk along its shores. There are plenty of water sports on offer too, as well as the Lakes Aquarium.
The Old Stables couldn't be better located for exploring the dramatic scenery of the Lake District National Park, the popular towns and villages of South Lakeland, or the quieter, less discovered valleys and coastline of the Furness Peninsular, and it's easily accessible being less than a 20-minute drive from the M6.
