The cottage was really quirky and lovely. The Christmas decorations were a bonus. We commented that the kitchen was like a set for a celebrity chef! The kitchen was really well equipped. We bought a new oven glove as the old one had a whole in. The beds were comfy and the views were amazing from the lounge. Plenty of space for 7 of us and 2 dogs!! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Hello Catherine, Thank you for your lovely review. How wonderful to spend Christmas in the Lakes - there really is no better place to be. It's a fabulous cottage for a big get together, isn't it? The kitchen is amazing - I hope you had fun preparing some delicious meals! I'm thrilled you had a lovely stay and I hope you will plan a return visit to the beautiful Lakes very soon.

We had a stay over the Christmas week and it was such an amazing place. Very comfortable accommadation with lots of nice touches. It had even been decorated for Christmas. Good location with shops just a short drive away.
We would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The Mews is a long way out but is still good for the Buttermere fells and two great pubs (Kirkstile Inn and the Wheatsheaf at Lorton). Cockermouth is only 2-3 miles away so supermarkets etc were available.
It is comfortable and clean and easily caters for 6-7 people but it was spoilt by the fact that it advertises wifi but the Broadband did not work all week and nobody in our group could get it to respond to any attempt to get it up and running!

Hello Philip, Thank you for your review. It's a real cosy cottage isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location for escaping the hustle and bustle for a while and getting out and about on some great walks. BT have since fixed the problem with the wifi which was caused by a problem further down the road and it's now working fine. I hope you had a really great stay and will plan a return visit to the Lakes very soon.
