Not being able to host a big party for our golden wedding, we decided to hire a cottage for a family celebration. We chose Malabar Cottage because it was in the area we wanted and it could sleep 12 people. We could not have chosen a better place. The bedrooms and fantastic en suites were wonderful, the dining and sitting rooms were perfect. The outside seating and barbecue were ideal. The surrounding countryside was gorgeous. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone.

We have just returned from a week at the Malabar. We rented the entire place out for 3 families and it was great. The countryside and surroundings were perfect. It is quite remote (about Half an hour drive from windermere etc) but this is what we were after. The bedrooms and bathrooms in particular were gorgeous. Any issues and the owners were on hand to help. We had a great time and would love to return to the lake district.

Excellent place to stay. Very comfortable and spacious. Beautiful rooms, all en suite with great shower and baths. Very beautiful surroundings. Sedbergh is a lovely little village with nice pubs. The hosts were incredibly friendly and prepared a delicious, authentic curry at a very reasonable rate. The Malabar is about 15-20 minutes from Windermere/Kendal... and 30 mins from the Wensleydale creamery. All in all, a great place to stay.
