The Lodge at Winder Hall is a charming two bedroom bungalow situated in the beautiful Lorton Vale and surrounded by stunning views of the Lake District's popular western fells. The cottage benefits from a fully enclosed garden, making it ideal for families and small groups alike.
The Lodge (Winder Hall) has two entrances, both of which have room for muddy boots and wet coats to be hung. The light-filled dining kitchen is spacious and contains an electric oven, four-ring gas hob, microwave, freestanding fridge-freezer, Nespresso coffee machine (remember to bring your own pods!) and a washing machine. Clothes can be hung to dry either on the line in the garden or in the garage. A generously-sized dining table sits below the beautiful feature windows, with views across the lawned garden, pasture, River Cocker and up to Whinfell. All windows in the house are leaded in traditional style and the view from the front window is of the Hopegill Head range.
The living room features fantastic vaulted ceilings and shares the same beautiful view over the garden as the kitchen. A large four seater corner sofa adds comfort to the room, which surrounds a wonderful wood burning stove (logs can be purchased from Lorton Village shop), making this room feel both welcoming and cosy. A TV with Freeview and DVD player and WiFi is available for entertainment.
Like the living room, the two bedrooms also feature vaulted ceilings and feature beams. The pretty double bedroom looks onto the private drive to Winder Hall and contains a built-in wardrobe hidden behind a beautiful old oak door and drawers for storage. The twin bedroom has lovely views over the garden to the rear, this bedroom can also be made into a Super King upon request.
The modern bathroom contains a shower, basin, WC, heated towel rail and storage unit.
Moving outside, you'll find the enclosed garden. A lawned area surrounded by mature trees and planting, the wonderful garden is the perfect place to relax with a cuppa whilst enjoying the birdsong from the garden's many visitors. A secure garage has been made available for guests (perfect for bike storage), as has the private pasture beyond The Lodge's garden boundary, which has a half-mile walk along the River Cocker. Private parking for two cars is available on the driveway, as well as plenty of on-street parking nearby.
