The Hayloft is a lovely place, in the tranquil hamlet of Broughton Beck, surrounded by beautiful countryside with stunning walks to be enjoyed right from your doorstep – including a range of hills that the locals refer to as the mini-alps.
This peaceful location does not compromise on convenience as the market town of Ulverston is located just two and a half miles away. The birth place of Stan Laurel of Laurel and Hardy, Ulverston is a vibrant community set around cobbled streets and beautiful old buildings. There is a thriving high street of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, an art deco cinema and a regular farmers’ market.
Nearby Cartmel is home to two Michelin starred restaurants, sticky toffee pudding and an amazing cheese shop! Just a 15 minute drive from The Hayloft is Coniston Water, and Lake Windermere at Newby Bridge is 15 minutes in the opposite direction. If you enjoy your sport, then you are spoiled for choice with golf, horse riding, rock climbing, sailing, canoeing, wild swimming all nearby. Or if you’re bringing children then there are Escape rooms, Go Ape, South Lakes Zoo, Fell Foot, Beatrix Potter, Muncaster & Wray Castles and Haverthwaite steam railway all within easy reach.
The Hayloft itself is an upside down house in part of a converted barn. Downstairs there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms (plus an additional room that is perfect for a child sleeping in a cot), while upstairs houses the open plan lounge with kitchen and dining area. It’s perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring the area.
The Hayloft can be booked alongside The Stable next door to accommodate up to 6 guests.
