The Escape is the perfect Lake District retreat. The entrance leads into the lounge with slate flagged floors and leather armchairs. Although the woodburner is not in use, the fireplace itself is an interesting geological work of art - using stone from all the different parts of the Lake District, from Borrowdale Slate to Eskdale Granite to St Bees Sandstone. There is no TV and the dining table in the lounge doubles up as a handy games table for a battle of Scrabble or Canasta. Beyond the lounge is the kitchen which has an electric oven and hob, larder fridge and storage space. The bathroom is beyond the kitchen and has a bath with shower over it.
Wooden open tread stairs lead to the bedroom which has a double bed, side tables and a wardrobe.
Outside there is space to enjoy the morning sun. Parking is on the road, a little further on from the cottage.
