Tarn Hows is one of two neighbouring apartments offered by Coniston Lodge and can be booked together with Yewdale Crags for larger groups.
A delightfully bright first floor apartment, Tarn Hows overlooks a pretty garden bordered by lush trees and an array of colourful shrubs in pots and planters. Situated on a quiet lane, the property has a peaceful location, yet is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Coniston village with its variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants. You can experience a true taste of history in the apartment, as Coniston Lodge was rented by Donald Campbell during his last and fatal attempt to break the world speed record.
The property benefits from two good-sized double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom making it ideal for two couples or families. A romantic four-poster bed in one room adds something a little special. A zip and link bed in the second bedroom converts to two singles if necessary. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with your every need catered for including lots of lovely touches, such as a welcome tray with a delicious homemade cake. After a day on the fells relax with some quiet reading time in the comfortable lounge. Outside, the leafy enclosed garden with patio furniture and sunbeds is the ideal place to soak up the evening sunshine over a chilled glass of wine. Off-road under-cover parking for 2 cars and a lockable bike store provides secure, convenient storage.
This is the perfect spot for hiking. Tarn Hows Apartment has many lovely walks right from the doorstep. Turn left from the garden gate and head up to the high fells of Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam. Or if you prefer something a little gentler, a short stroll brings you to the banks of Coniston Water where you can follow a picturesque path along the water’s edge.
For guests who book Christmas week, Tarn Hows Apartment offers a scrumptious hamper full of amazing goodies!
