During the festive season, the owners provide a small rustic (unlit) tree and a few decorations. This will mean the cottage is seasonal but not too overcrowded! If you are visiting for Christmas itself, please feel free to bring your own larger tree to fit your presents under!General Description
Through the gate, six slate steps lead down onto the patio area where there is an entrance porch, which provides a handy space for storing wet outdoor jackets, boots, dog towels, etc. This is a quiet rural village so it is quite safe to leave this outer door unlocked.
The front door opens onto the ground floor which has a beautiful slate floor with underfloor heating, old beams, and an open plan layout that adds a modern touch to the cottage. The kitchen has an electric oven and four-ring hob, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a fridge freezer, microwave, caffetiere and a selection of common cooking utensils (if you plan to do any baking, please bring your own implements). There is a dining table with four chairs.
The lounge area features a plush corner sofa for three people and a wood burning stove with space for the dog to lie in front of it! We'll leave a few logs and firelighters for the first night - please bring matches. There is a TV, DVD player and fibre broadband - check the router for the code.
Upstairs has been refurbished and is heated by central heating radiators. There is a double bedroom and a single bedroom with an additional pull-out child's bed if required. The shower room has a quadrant shower, WC, washbasin, and heated towel rail.
Outside there is small rockery garden patio area. The garden is enclosed by a fence and dry stone wall and has plastic garden chairs in summer for sitting out. Please note that the garden has very steep slate steps and may not be suitable for children under 5 years old. Please call the office on 017687 80571 if you would like any more information.
Parking is in the lane by the gate ideally on the uphill side of the gate where the road is widest.
