A fabulous cottage - a lovely warm base from which to walk. Beautiful surroundings. Kitchen equipment bountiful and good (although the cooker was hard to understand). Two crazy things stop Swinsty being a perfect place - no dogs (in the Lakes where everyone goes to walk)???? and no internet. We only booked Swinsty because it was a late booking we wouldn't normally consider a place without wifi. We couldn't book a restaurant or get a weather report. My 79 year old mother couldn't believe anywhere didn't have the net now - she couldn't contact her friends. Whatever it takes you need to sort this issue and accept dogs - then I'd recommend Swinsty to everyone.

Stunning location and a peaceful retreat from the rat race and all that comes with modern tech.
Warning notes a little over powering... do you really need that many.
Cooking a challenge due to rather challenging oven.
We would come again just for the location, however at this price point guests expect a immaculate home and this fell just a little short of the mark.

Hi Peter, thank you for your comments, which I have made a note of to look into. It really is a wonderful location, isn't it? Here's to escaping the rat race more often!
