Swinside Cottage provides cosy self catering accommodation for two people, in an enviable position near Ennerdale Water. The cottage is perfect for a relaxing rural retreat, with a cosy sitting room and bedroom with exposed original roof beams.
Ennerdale is a dramatic and unspoilt valley with excellent walks and mountain climbing. The cottage is located on a quite rural lane outside Ennerdale Bridge leading into the heart of the Ennerdale fells. There is direct fell access from the door, onto Heckbarley and Crag Fell, overlooking Ennerdale Water. Also nearby is the mountain of Pillar with the imposing Pillar Rock towering over the valley forest.
At nearby Kinniside there is the opportunity to enjoy pony trekking over the lower fells, or a speedier option of go-karting at Rowrah. You can also fish by permit on the water.
Cockermouth, a Georgian market town and Whitehaven, a seaside Georgian town, are only a short distance away whilst the popular Lake District town of Keswick is only half an hour's drive away. The historic village of St Bees is also close at hand with a long pebbled beach and its famous cliffs, home to thousands of nesting sea birds.
