General Description

Swindale Cottage is a Victorian end-terrace cottage in the tranquil Eden Valley village of Warcop. Sleeping between three to four people and boasting a wonderful welcoming feel, it makes a delightful base to explore, the Yorkshire Dales, the mighty Pennines and even the Lake District National Park. The owners have incorporated thoughtful individual touches to the house and some wonderful characterful pieces of furniture.

Guests arrive to the front of the house into a light hallway with coat hooks for your outdoor gear and plenty of space for walking boots. To the right of the hallway is the cosy living room. This has four armchairs, three of them leather and with differing seating styles to suit all tastes, arranged around the lovely open fire. It's a delightful social space for discussing your day's adventures however, there's also a SMART TV for entertainment should you wish to curl up in front of a good film.

Back across the hallway is the open-plan kitchen and dining room. The room benefits from tons of light from the large bay window where there is also a comfy Parker Knoll two seater sofa and a dining table for four. The modern kitchen is well equipped with a built-in fan oven, ceramic hobs, microwave, slimline dishwasher and large built-in fridge freezer. Moving further through towards the back door there is a utility cupboard and downstairs WC.

Upstairs you will find the bedrooms and main bathroom. First to the master bedroom, this has a romantic cream-coloured iron bedstead, a dresser and a hanging rail for storage. The second bedroom has a small double bed, it can be used for two people however please bear in mind it is more suitable for one. This room also has a lovely iron bedstead and a hanging rail. This floor also houses the study which is a charming book-lined room with a desk overlooking Crooks Beck, which bubbles past across the road outside Swindale Cottage. It's an ideal space if you are bringing work with you on your break. In here there's a single "z-bed" which can be made up if your party is four people (please inform us on booking if you require this).

The bathroom is a gorgeous modern room with slate flooring, a stylish white suite with separate bath and a wet-room style shower.

Moving outside to the rear of the house there is a lovely enclosed rear garden with patio and raised section which benefits from morning sunshine, ideal for a morning cuppa. There is also dining furniture available for outdoor meals in the warmer months. Please note that the house next door shares access through the garden. To the front of the house there is a small area within the garden railings with a bench to profit from the evening sunshine and the view of the stream. Why not enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the peace and tranquility of this charming village?
