One of a collection of beautifully designed holiday cottages within a converted barn, Stanegate sleeps 3 people in comfortable, homely and light rooms arranged around a spacious hallway. The cottage is all on one level on the ground floor of the building overlooking fields at the back. It is well equipped throughout and will welcome you inside to relax whether this is at the end of a busy day out or a lazy day in.

The property is located a stone’s throw from Hadrian’s Wall Path, which can be accessed directly through the fields at the back of the cottage and with the vallum passing directly under Bleatarn Park you cannot get any closer to this famous monument. Walks from your door can take you east and west along the national trail or south to Crosby-on-Eden and walks along the River Eden. Although the cottage is surrounded by quiet countryside the main A689 is quickly reached giving easy access to the attractive market town of Brampton and the historic border city of Carlisle. A perfect location to give you a peaceful base from which to access all the local attractions on offer.

This area of north Cumbria offers a quiet beauty away from the hustle and bustle of the lake District National Park but that does not mean you will not find lots of things to do within easy reach. Explore the full length of Hadrian’s Wall with its associated forts and museums, and enjoy the rugged beauty of the landscape it passes through. Carlisle is a compact city ideal for exploring on foot; visit the imposing castle or sandstone cathedral, wander through one of the parks alongside the River Eden or browse the range of shops in the city centre. Slightly further afield but still within easy reach is the Northumberland National Park with miles of quiet walking or cycling. Experience the contrasting wildernesses of the North Pennines and Solway Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or how about visiting Alston, the highest market town in England, for a ride on a narrow-gauge steam railway. All the attractions of the stunning northern Lake District are also awaiting your visit with Keswick less than an hour’s drive away.

This lovely little property is beautifully located for exploring this lesser known part of Cumbria, whether you are a first timer or know it like a local.
