Hi Christopher, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? And the fabulous weather was the icing on the cake! I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Lovely relaxing time in quiet hamlet. We did not need much in way of local amenities but there was a pub and hotel 15 mins walk away. Cockermouth only 5 miles away if supplies needed.
Most importantly the bed was very comfortable and we slept well (helped by plenty of walking in fresh air). Kitchen well equipped.
Small niggles such as several light bulbs needed replacing ( but not those which had spares in drawer), previous comments re TV having no signal also applied and could not be rectified by retuning. Not important for us but might be for some. Keep a close eye on toaster if using- can go from underdone to burnt v quickly 

Despite reading a number of reviews about the parking area in the shared courtyard we did not encounter any issues during our stay although any inconsiderate parking by anyone could be a problem. However, with regards to the accommodation itself; what a lovely, cosy and well equipped place it was. Lovely open plan living downstairs with more than enough room for two to lounge, cook or eat and plan the next day. Upstairs the bathroom was warm and welcoming whilst the shower was hot & plentiful. Lots of room in the "bedroom" for storage and generally moving around (so a bed bigger than a double would be a bonus but not an issue). Beautiful vaulted ceiling upstairs and very characterful. It was a very quiet and peaceful location in this small hamlet but the A66 (just 1/2 a mile away) was ready to whisk you away very easily to other Northern and Western Lakes locations in no time. All main facilities were just 3 or 4 miles away in Cockermouth. Overall a very well presented cottage and well equipped for a short or long stay. Thank you and would definitely return if the opportunity presents itself again to come to that side of the Lakes.
