Just had a great week at Stable Cottage Trelkeld. It is a lovely cottage with wonderful viewsVery well equipped and extremely clean, thanks to Val & Roger who manage the property. Nothing was to much trouble for them. There are lots of walks from the cottage. We walked into Keswick along the old railway line which has been restored very well. Then caught the bus back. There are 2 pubs & a cafe in the village which do lovely meals We had such a lovely time we have booked it for next year

Lovely stable conversion, lots of original features. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. Amazing views from both the back and front windows, and back garden. Only two of us (so quite pricey) should have been 6 just over the weekend but covid restrictions still applied , so plenty of room. The lounge area might have be a bit on the small side for us (4 adults and 2 children), but depends how much space you're used to. Lots of walks straight from the door, strenuous ones and easy ones, and the Keswick to Penrith bus goes through the village every hour, which is a bonus. Short bit of an uphill walk to the cottage, but well worth it to have the views. The village cafe must be very good, but we never managed to get in because it gets so busy! That should be easier now that they're allowed to open inside too. All in all we had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage in a lovely peaceful village, even the weather was better than forecast. Many thanks to Val and Roger who manage the property, a lovely couple who do an excellent job, the owners are very lucky to have them.
