we enjoyed the weekend as the cottage was quite spacious and comfortable. just a pity that it rained all weekend. the only thing we could complain about was the back gate/door which did not fasten and blew in the wind. my husband propped a garden chair against it

Hi Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend and didn't let the weather spoil your fun. Thanks for letting me know about the gate, I'll make sure we get that sorted. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Overall this is an excellent property and was just perfect for our needs. The only criticism would be that the cleanliness of the property in some areas on arrival was a little disappointing.

Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break in the heart of Keswick isn't it? I'm sorry to hear that some of the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'll make sure it's addressed with the cleaners. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Skimming stones is a lovely house, very comfortable and very clean on arrival-had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The location to Keswick town is perfect so easy to walk in for an evening meal or a sneaky afternoon mooch around the shops. Parking is a pain as there’s no allocated parking so you could end up a street away if you go out for the day which to be honest is the only down side. Beds were comfortable, would be nice to have a super king in the master bedroom but that’s just because we’re used to it at home. Had so many lovely walks straight from the house, enjoyed water activities with Keswick extreme- definitely worth booking before you go, and seen some other excursions that we’ll be booking for next year. The Round is really nice for burgers, The Pheasant is lovely for a more traditional pub meal, and The Chalet in Portinscale (an easy mile walk from town) is lovely for breakfast/lunch. Fish and chips from the chippy at bottom of town was lovely and we had a lovely Chinese takeaway from the Chinese at same end of town (sorry can’t remember the names) Would come back to skimming stones but might try and see if we can find a property in similar position to town but with parking first.

Hello Sally, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The location is perfect for making the most of everything that Keswick has to offer. Here's to getting away from it all more often!
