Skimming Stones is a light, spacious property sleeping 8 people and ideally located just a short walk from Keswick town centre. The downstairs sitting and dining space is open plan and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all spacious and bright. All the bedrooms have views of the fells, whilst the  kitchen is modern and well equipped. With two twins, one double and one king size bedroom, the accommodation is flexible enough to suit an extended family, two families travelling together or a group of friends away for a break. At the back of the house, the pretty enclosed yard faces west and catches the evening sun; a lovely spot to relax after a day on the fells.

Skimming Stones is perfectly positioned for you to take advantage of everything popular and vibrant market town of Keswick has to offer. Spend a day browsing 'round the shops, enjoy afternoon tea in one of the many café, or take an evening stroll on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater. For a more active day there are many companies offering paddle boarding, canoeing, ghyll scrambling, rock climbing, mountain biking, orienteering and much more! There are a huge variety of walks to choose from ranging from gentle ambles to serious mountain hikes. If you get a wet day, check out The Puzzling Place, The Pencil Museum or the Keswick Museum, or scramble up an indoor climbing wall. Evening entertainment could include a film at the family-run cinema or  a show at the Theatre by the Lake.

If you want to venture a little further afield, the whole of the northern Lake District is within easy reach. Regular buses run down the Borrowdale Valley, over the pass to Buttermere and along the A591 to Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere. Alternatively, you can use the timetabled launch on Derwentwater to stop off for a walk around the lake or up beautiful Catbells. Whatever you like to do you are sure to find it within easy reach of Skimming Stones.
