Skiddaw View is a two-bedroom bungalow sleeping up to four people situated in the heart of Keswick town centre. It is a great base for those wanting to explore the Northern Lake District in a vibrant town location. With just one small step at the entrance to the bungalow, it also has a walk-in shower and electric reclining chairs in the living room and conservatory, all of which go towards reducing the worry of a holiday shared with an elderly or less mobile family member.
Keswick's popularity stems from its wonderful position on the shores of picturesque Derwentwater and at the foot of beautiful Cumbrian fells. It's a vibrant town with an atmosphere all its own; boasting its own popular theatre, an art deco cinema, a twice weekly market and a wealth of charming shops and excellent eateries at your fingertips. The charming pedestrianised centre of town is just over the road from Skiddaw View; just lovely for summer evening strolls around its restaurants and pubs. Added to this you have an amazing range of walking and cycling right from the door.
Beyond Keswick lies wonderful Skiddaw, the giant massif that stands guard over Keswick (and England's fourth highest mountain). The stunning Derwentwater is a mere stroll through Japanese-style gardens near to the Theatre by the Lake. The stately Keswick Launches wind their way around its seven landing stages on the lake, making it easy to explore the Borrowdale Valley. Indeed a delightful day out is a walk along the western shore of the Lake to one of Borrowdale's lovely pubs, restaurants or cafes taking in a delicious lunch and then catching a launch back. You can find your perfect picnic spot and enjoy the stunning views in all directions. It's easy to see why Keswick is such a well-loved gem and at Skiddaw View you'll be right in the heart of it.
