Siskin is a cosy, ground floor, one bedroom studio apartment in Easedale House with high ceilings and open plan living, dining and kitchen areas flooded with natural light from a large bay window. It has been stylishly and comfortably modernised and includes a private parking permit (a rarity in central Keswick).
The living area features an electic fireplace with flame effect, Smart TV, a two-seater leather sofa and even a piano for guests who are musically minded. The retro, circular G-Plan dining table seats four (and can be extended for up to eight, though you would need to find the extra chairs) and is set within the large bay window area, looking out to Southey Street and across to the slate-built Keswick Methodist Church.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fan oven/microwave, an induction hob, dishwasher and a retro-style Swan freestanding fridge-freezer, there's a little extra worksurface too, with a mobile wooden island unit. There is a shared washer-dryer on the mezzanine floor just upstairs (used by three other apartments).
Although this is technically a studio, the bedroom is separate but open to the living room. This lovely, quiet room has a kingsize bed and a large mirror door wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, plus a chest of drawers and bedside drawers too. The compact ensuite bathroom houses the WC, heated towel rail, cabinets with built-in handbasin, lamp with integral shaver socket, and a large walk-in shower with dual overhead and handset chrome shower sprays, offering a generous rainfall drenching experience, a real luxury after an energetic day spent on the fells.
The apartment is one of seven in Easdale House and is accessed via a shared entrance. The other apartments are Wagtail, Kingfisher, Curlew, Egret, Goldcrest and Osprey.
