Shundraw Cottage sleeps 6 people and is attached to the main farmhouse. The cottage built with local stone and slate in the peaceful valley of St. John’s in the Vale overlooking the Helvellyn range. There are stunning views of Blencathra and Helvellyn from both garden and patio areas.
On the ground floor there is an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and lounge, featuring a wall mounted TV and DVD player. The kitchen area has dishwasher, belfast sink, undercounter fridge and separate freezer, washer, electric cooker and microwave.
A metal spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine sitting area with sofa and small TV, leading on to a twin bedroom. Due to the access to this room being via the tall spiral staircase, it is only suitable for children over 5 years old. There are no wardrobes in the top bedroom due to the sloping ceiling but there is hanging space in one of the cupboards in the hallway on the ground floor.
Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms, a king-size bedroom (with a roll top bath) and a zip and link which can be made up as a twin or super king-size bed (please state which you require at time of booking). There is a wet room with a walk in shower, WC and washbasin.
Outside there are two patios and a lawned garden. Garden furniture is available to sit out and enjoy the unspoilt view. The cottage is close to several places of local interest including Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick Climbing Wall and Threlkeld Mining Museum and has lots of great walks from the front door.
