Our fourth stay at The Shieling. We love the location with the old railway line nearby allowing an easy 20 minute walk into Keswick, and now it is open again a lovely walk to Threkeld in the other direction. The bus to Grasmere/Ambleside and beyond stops right outside.

The Shieling is a cosy base from which to explore the area and Pat is very helpful should you need her. The new bathroom is excellent, love the shower!

We always enjoy our stay.

Hi Anne, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your fourth stay here, it must feel like coming home now! It's a lovely place for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of the Lakes isn't it? I'm glad you appreciated the new bathroom.
Come back soon, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

Place is too small .kitchen size especially not enough room to cook a proper meal.bed very uncomfortable and no where near enough storage for 2 people to store clothing for a week.its more suited to an elderly couple and should be marketed as such!! Also half used toiletries from other guests is hardly covid secure is it??? Definitely won't be back as we went home a day early so could get a decent night's sleep

Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the cottage didn't meet your expectations. I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement and will make sure everything you've highlighted is looked into, thank you.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Absolutely fantastic holiday, the cottage was in an ideal location for walkers- 20 min walk to Keswick and with 30min drive of the main mountains we wanted to hike. The cottage has the facilities we wanted- washing machine, dishwasher , oven and stove. Having the personal outdoor space was amazing, just shady enough for a chill out after a hike!
