Absolutely fantastic holiday, the cottage was in an ideal location for walkers- 20 min walk to Keswick and with 30min drive of the main mountains we wanted to hike. The cottage has the facilities we wanted- washing machine, dishwasher , oven and stove. Having the personal outdoor space was amazing, just shady enough for a chill out after a hike!

A lovely week at The Shieling, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Beautiful luxury bathroom and well laid out accommodation.
A 20 minute walk along the newly renovated railway path takes you into the centre of Keswick with its many shops, however there is a very well stocked shop at the petrol station which is less than 10 minutes walk if you are just after food and drink.
Plenty of high and low level walks from the cottage including the Keswick to Threlkeld railway path with tea and cakes in the village Hall at Threlkeld, about 6 miles round trip.

Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? You couldn't have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. Until next time!

The welcome hamper was a very nice surprise, gratefully received as were the spare toiletries and the flowers on the table were a lovely touch.
