We've stayed at Blencathra View for the last few years but this year we thought we'd stay in Scales View and weren't disappointed. It was clean and benefitted from being freshly decorated this year. Only downside was there was no frying pan and some kitchen utensils were missing. Also could have done with a few more bowls. Have always enjoyed our stays in these cottages and already booked for next year.

Hi Catherine, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your first stay at Scales View. It's a lovely place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? Thanks for letting me know about the missing items in the kitchen, I'll make sure we get that sorted. Roll on next year!

Cottage was very clean. The fridge, freezer, washing machine/dryer and dishwasher all worked well. Large, comfortable rooms with reasonably comfortable beds. Some very minor issues such as missing drawer handles, wobbly toilet seat but nothing to spoil the holiday & to be expected in a cheaper cottage. From some reviews I was concerned about the standard but was very pleasantly surprised. If the cottages' outside area could be made secure for dogs this would make a big difference.

Cottage was fantastic for us in terms of layout and location. The cottage was clean, however carpets were stained and could do with a wash to remove. The plumbing is quite bizarre and although shower was powerful it was too powerful and did not stay on the holder spraying water everywhere. The beds were not particularly comfortable with sprints protruding - I had to use a duvet cover from another bed to provide more padding. The kitchen table needs tightening up, the part of the fridge that holds milk and bottles etc was broken - have photo. There was no frying pan although there was a George Foreman grill. The washing machine was fantastic. It would not take a lot to make this a fantastic cottage, main thing that would put me off staying again was the mattresses - could live with the other things.
