General Comments: The photo’s do not do this cottage any justice. It was very spacious and had a very modern feel but respectfully done given the age of the property. The paddock for the dogs was fantastic, completely secure and had a couple of entry points for the dogs to paddle or swim. Although there were no local amenities, Cockermouth was literally 2 miles away. Ideally situated for the places we wanted to see.
Very sad to leave but definitely a place we will go back to.

Carnforth Couple

General Comments: We had a lovely break at Rowandene with our three dogs. The cottage was very well equipped and plenty of room for all of us. The location is excellent and there's lots to do nearby, despite some wet days we had some good walks every day. We would highly recommend the cottage, it has everything you and dogs need for a great holiday.

General Comments: We've just returned from a lovely week at Rowandene. The Cottage is in a beautiful location a short drive from Cockermouth. Breathtaking scenery on the doorstep. Absolutely ideal for dogs. Secure patio outside and a secure paddock over the lane. Brilliant. The cottage was very spacious and bright. We had lovely weather-beautiful sunny days with just two short spells of dampness. It would have been useful having a downstairs loo but as we knew there was only one this has not affected our marking. Our lower marking is due to the very low and uncomfortable sofa (as commented on in earlier reviews) and to the fact we were very disappointed with the TV package. There was no viewing card so we were unable to access anything other than basic channels. Notwithstanding the above we had a very enjoyable holiday in a beautiful part of the country with great weather to boot.

Hello Jean, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I have passed this on to the owners who are a little surprised as the sofa is a top of the range model and as well as this they have also included a large, comfortable wing armchair as well as two new leather recliners with footstools. They have also installed a Freesat box in the cottage which can receive 196 channels! I am please that this did not detract from your holiday as you were certainly very fortunate with the weather. I hope you will be bringing the sunshine back with you very soon.
