Expertly interior designed, Rowan Tree Cottage is a wonderful retreat that you're sure to love and want to return to time and time again.

Step through the door into the open-plan living and dining room. With oak flooring throughout, the sitting-dining area is a wonderfully welcome room. The dining area benefits from a dining table for four making it the perfect place to catch up over a delicious meal.

In the living area you'll find two large sumptuous sofas and an ottoman, just perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring everything that Keswick has to offer. The living area is arranged around the lovely wood burner, ideal for cosy nights in. For entertainment there's a large flat screen TV, dvd player and Sky TV.

At the rear of the cottage is the fully fitted kitchen; enjoying a view over the rear patio, this is a country-style room that cooks will love. The kitchen is fully equipped to the highest standard with all the modern conveniences you could ask for: there's an integrated dishwasher, a useful washer-drier, fridge-freezer and separate microwave. There's also a large, feature range-style cooker with five ring gas burner, two ovens and separate grill. Leading off the kitchen is the conservatory-style sitting area, with table and seating for four and an external door to the rear patio, meaning you can enjoy the feeling of being outdoors even if it's raining.

Upstairs there are two gorgeous bedrooms and the modern family bathroom. The front bedroom benefits from a feature oak super king (6ft) bed. With lovely views to Latrigg, bedside tables, dressing table and fitted wardrobes, you'll feel perfectly at home in here. The rear bedroom is no less lovely. This room has a kingsize metal bed (5ft), with bedside tables, dressing table, armchair and fitted wardrobe. The family bathroom has a large walk-in power shower, vanity unit and large heated towel rail, perfect for warm snuggly towels. High quality cotton bedding and towels are provided - as are tea, coffee, sugar, milk, washing products and even homemade cake!

To the front of the cottage there is a small sitting area with views over the rooftops towards Latrigg - it's the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. The rear patio is enclosed and private. Benefitting from rattan seating and a dining table, why not enjoy an al fresco meal? On-street parking is available outside the cottage on St Herbert's Street.

Visitor Comments

"We are loathe to give away the secret about this little gem! Having stayed in a good many Keswick cottages, Rowan Tree Cottage ranks top of the list. It is perfectly situated in the centre of Keswick – ideal for quick pops into town, for going out to eat or for stocking up at the supermarket, yet is far enough away from the shopping area to be quiet. Within 5 mins by car or 10mins on foot you can be up a mountain or beside the Lake. The cottage is a real home from home – very well proportioned by Keswick standards with two good size bedrooms, a great bathroom with walk-in shower and plenty of living and kitchen space. The little garden is a bonus in nice weather, as is the little room off the kitchen which, thanks to a clever velux, is full of light and a lovely place to sit for coffee or lunch. Everything works well – the heating, kitchen appliances etc. The attention to detail in terms of style, comfort and practicality is what makes this cottage so special."
