General Description

Rowan House is a beautifully appointed cottage for six in lovely Threlkeld. Blessed with plenty of space, comfortable furnishings, a subtle palette of colours and an elegant eye for decor it makes a delightful holiday home in a welcoming Lakeland village.

Guests enter from the parking area at the rear of the cottage straight into the spacious kitchen. It has a gorgeous cosy traditional feel with wooden worktops and a Belfast sink but with all the modern comforts you might hope for. It is well equipped with a range-style oven with ceramic hobs, a dishwasher, microwave, and a large American-style fridge freezer along with all the crockery and cookware you might require. Next to the kitchen there is a spacious utility room with a washing machine.

For gathering the family around the table guests have a gorgeous dining room with a decorative fireplace, two windows and a wonderful wooden oval table. Perfect for long post dinner chats about your adventures.

The living room is a large comfortable space with a wood burning stove, two deep sofas and an armchair. There's a television with Freeview and a DVD player for whiling away chilly evenings.

Moving upstairs to the bedrooms. Firstly, the master bedroom has a king-size wooden bedstead, fitted wardrobes for storage and a window looking out onto village life and the fells beyond. It has an en suite shower room with mixer shower. The second king-size room has a romantic cast iron bedstead, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and decorative fireplace. Lastly the twin room has cast iron bedsteads, a wardrobe, dresser and views out to the sweeping fellside of Blencathra.

The family bathroom is an elegant space with a clawfoot double ended bath and large shower enclosure incorporating an old-fashioned mixer shower with drencher head.

The outside of the house offers delightful dining space in the form of a raised patio to the rear of the house. There's also a lovely enclosed garden over the lane from the house. It is worth noting that the lane is used by other vehicles so children should always be supervised while crossing. There is a gravelled parking area for two cars to the rear of the house and further parking for two cars across the lane next to the enclosed garden.
