Relax in the pretty village of Arnside and discover the wonders of northern England, with glorious walks from the doorstep, an abundance of flora and fauna, a beach 500 metres from the property, and boasting equal distances to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks and the traditional seaside town of Morcombe.

This is a fantastic retreat for up to six people, located in the peaceful village of Arnside. 12 external steps lead up to the front door where you'll find the accommodation all laid out on the first floor. There's a well equipped breakfast kitchen and spacious living/dining room. The property has three lovely bedrooms, a double, a twin and a bunk room, and a modern family bathroom. The accommodation is light, bright and airy, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The cottage also has a garage for storing bikes and a delightful rear terraced garden.

Arnside is a peaceful village, overlooking the estuary of the River Kent and on towards Morecambe Bay. Stroll along the pier, a reminder of this quaint village's past as a bustling fishing port, and enjoy the stunning views over the water. There are plenty of local walks, from woodland rambles to the popular Arnside Knott which offers fantastic views over the area. Arnside itself has a handy railway station and a well-stocked village shop, as well as a few local eateries to try out too.

If you fancy heading slightly further afield, there's plenty of choice for a day out. The whole area of Arnside and Silverdale is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you'll soon see why. Explore the nature reserves at Warton Crag and Gait Barrows, whilst for keen ornithologists the RSPB nature reserve at Leighton Moss is a must. Why not head south to popular Morecambe Bay? Sign up for a guided walk across the sands (don't venture out by yourselves) or hire bikes and cycle along the picturesque promenade. The beautiful South Lakes are within easy reach as well so why not head away from the coast for a day on the fells?

Head up the 12 external steps that lead to front door, inside you'll find spacious and bright accommodation for up to six people. To the right off the welcoming entrance hallway is the living/dining room, a wonderful social space. Light, bright and airy, thanks to the large picture window to the front, there are lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The sofas are positioned in front of the electric fire and there's a TV in here too, perfect for relaxing evenings in. The round dining table is the ideal spot to catch up on the day's events over a hearty, home-cooked meal.

The kitchen, at the rear of the cottage, overlooks the delightful tiered garden and is well equipped with all the essentials for a self-catering holiday. There's an electric oven and hob, toaster, all important kettle, handy microwave, fridge and there's even a dishwasher so there'll be no need to fight over who has to do the washing up!

The three lovely bedrooms and bathroom are also located off the central hallway. First up is the master bedroom. Another light and spacious room, in here you'll find a handy wardrobe and a useful full-length mirror. The double bed is perfectly positioned to make the most of the view over the garden so why not bring your morning cuppa back to bed and indulge in a long lie in - you are on holiday after all! Next up is the twin room with its matching pine single beds. This room has plenty of storage thanks to the wardrobe and chest of drawers and the large window makes the most of the countryside views to the front. Last but by no means least is the bunk room, another spacious bedroom with a handy chest of drawers for storage.

The modern family bathroom has a WC, wash basin and bath with shower over meaning all tastes are catered for, whether you prefer a long soak in the tub or a refreshing shower.

As well as parking for two cars on the driveway at the front of the cottage, to the rear is a large garden. Laid out over different terraced levels, it's a wonderful space. A raised patio area has an outdoor table and chairs, ideal for dining al fresco. The garden slopes upwards from here and quaint wooden bench on the next level up has wonderful views over the rooftops to the surrounding countryside. Steps lead up to the top of the garden where you'll find a gate which leads to a footpath that takes you into Arnside village.

Fantastic location, been to Arnside a few times but never stayed there. Cottage comfortable and well equipped. We were there for a week with 3 dogs and were able to go on walks without the car. Some were very wet!

Ideal place to stay for us, close to the Lake District for walks with our dog. However we found Arnside a great place to explore that we spent several days closer to home, walking up the Arnside Knott and exploring the shoreline. Rowan Bank is well placed and an easy walk into Arnside. It worked well for us with our dog. The cottage was comfortableRead more, well set up for visitors. Great accommodation in a lovely part of the UK. The property is well equipped from the kitchen to the lounge and bedrooms. Lovely spacious garden for children and dogs to run around in. Just a short distance from the train station so you can visit other nearby towns. Overall a great place to stay, just a shame we cant rely on the British weather

We had a lovely stay, it had everything we needed for the week. The steps up to front door felt hard work at first but after a week of good walks . We was almost running up them! Great base for any holiday.

A comfortable cottage within a quick walk of Arnside town centre, breach and train station. It is a lovely area with plenty of walks, train rides, bird spotting or cycles. The garden is terraced so not suitable for kids to play in, inaccessible for the less mobile and isn't fenced sufficiently to stop dogs wandering off.
