Would a comfy house for four with stunning fell views, nestled in a quiet residential street in Portinscale be of interest? If so, Roslin could be just the ticket. With fantastic walking straight from the door, a village pub virtually on the doorstep and the Lake District's adventure capital, Keswick, just an easy stroll away it really is perfectly placed to make the most of this much-loved area. Roslin is a semi-detached house with enclosed garden sleeping four people and welcoming up to two well-behaved pooches. Blessed with a substantial enclosed garden overlooking mighty Skiddaw, England's fourth highest peak, it makes a great place for a family or couple to enjoy.

Portinscale really is an ideal situation in that it has all the charm of a small village with welcoming pubs, gentle walks, more challenging fell rambles and two marinas on the doorstep while also being just a stone's throw from Keswick, a bustling market town with outdoor shops, cafes and culture aplenty. Just over a mile away from Roslin, guests can be walking along the edge of picturesque Derwentwater or catching one of the stately launches from which you can enjoy the splendid scenery. Why not take the beautiful lakeside path all the way into the scenic jaws of Borrowdale, enjoy a delicious lunch and catch the launch back to Nichol End Marina? What a treat. Alternatively guests can explore some of the literary history of the area as Beatrix Potter holidayed along this western shore of the Lake as a young woman. The sketches she made here at Fawe Park and Lingholme feature in her timeless stories. Families will love exploring the outdoor gallery dedicated to her work at nearby Lingholm.

Keswick needs little introduction but whether you are looking to indulge your wilder side with outdoor adventures or enjoy a gentler sort of holiday taking in the delights of Keswick's award winning museum, its beautifully situated Theatre By The Lake or just ambling about soaking up the atmosphere of this vibrant little town then it's all less than two miles from Roslin.

Please be aware that although Roslin no longer accepts pets, it is not currently suitable for guests that may have pet allergies. If you have any questions, please call the office on 017687 80571 and we would be happy to help you.
