This lovely Georgian house is approached via the carriage driveway with parking in front of the house. Entrance to the house is by the pathway leading to the rear French windows which lead into the large kitchen. The kitchen has free standing units, a large woodburner (initial supply of logs) with drying rail over the large inglenook, washer, dishwasher, microwave, Rangemaster six burner gas hob and oven and fridge freezer. There is also a sofa in the kitchen.
An adjoining pantry with original slate sconces provides extra storage space for food. A high chair is provided. A large wych elm table for dining is in the kitchen and French windows lead out from the side of the kitchen to a sheltered patio area with table and chairs providing spectacular views to the fells.
From the kitchen is the inner hallway with stone flagged floor and leading off from this are the steps up to the former maid's bedroom, which has been utilised as an extra bedroom. There is a double bed in this room and it is accessed by the open tread wooden steps that are very steep. The room would be ideal for older children or adults, it isn't suitable for young children or those less abled. The downstairs bathroom, again leading off from the inner hallway, has shower cubicle, W.C. and washbasin.
A formal entrance hallway is to the front of the property, from which is accessed the drawing room with ornate plaster ceiling, large double aspect windows, woodburner, comfortable seating, TV and DVD. The downstairs twin bedroom is on the opposite side of the hallway and again has a lovely Georgian window to the front and an original fireplace along with a ornate small woodburning stove. A characterful stairway at the rear leads up to the further bedrooms and family bathroom.
The spacious master bedroom having double aspect windows, providing spectacular views to the dramatic Loweswater fells and feature fireplace (not in use). There is a further spacious double bedroom (again with feature fireplace and large windows) and a smaller double bedroom which has a king sized bed, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom with velux window.
The lovely family bathroom has W.C. washbasin, heated towel rail and a large free standing roll top bath. Most of the rooms in Rosewell House have retained their lovely Georgian features, including coving and large windows. There is no cot at Rosewell House.
Outside are large lawned areas and woodland all surrounded by spectacular fells.
