We had a great time. Nice place tot stay with my family. Everything was there what we needed. It's an old house and only within 30 minutes drive to nice places to visit. Very nice owners too. We will be back!

The cottage is spacious and well equipped with a lovely walled garden and is in a good location. However, the cottage is very tired inside and is well overdue for a refurbish and an overall good clean. The en suite bathroom had mould around the bath, the shower screen didn't fit properly, there were no curtains or blinds at the windows or no bathmat. The shower in 2nd bathroom didn't drain properly and again no bathmat. The outside bins and bottle bin were full on arrival and were not emptied until the day before we left. There was an overall musty smell throughout all of the cottage, especially in the middle bedroom with the handbasin. We knew it was not going to be the most modern inside but it did not offer the comfort we expected.

I appreciate visitors leaving reviews so that I can have a look into these and make sure that I have a chat with the cottage owners too. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the location of Rose Cottage and the space that it has to offer. I will have a chat with the owner about your thoughts on the decoration and when their next deep clean is going to be. I will make sure that I get the bath and showers look at too and I would have been more than happy to attend to these during your stay. The local area has been affected by changes to the bin collections during the summer period but this has been resolved now and things are back to normal again. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review following your stay and I do hope that you are able to visit the Lakes again soon.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at this lovely, peaceful cottage. Our 2nd visit, after spending our Honeymoon here back in 1999.

A perfect place to “get away from it all” and a great base for exploring the northern lakes.
