We have been in temporary accommodation at Rose Cottage, lowMillghyll, Lamplugh from 15th February 2021 to 17th September due to a house fire we had on 24.1.21!

We would like to say a massive thank you to Rob and Sally of Sallys Cottages. They provided us with accommodation when we had no where to go after the fire, and also extended our accommodation for 2 months. Sallys cottages operate with professionalism, nothing was too much trouble. Rose Cottage was very well equipped and has its own secure garden, and is set in a lovely tranquil location. I have scored a 5 for local amenities as there arent any within walking distance, but a short drive away is Whitehaven, Workington and Cockermouth.

Hi Chris, thank you so much for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased we were able to accommodate you at such a difficult time. I'm glad to hear that you felt comfortable and relaxed during your stay, I know you were in very good hands with Rob and Sally.
I hope the next time you come to stay in one of our cottages it's in very different circumstances! All the best.

Our mini staycation to Lamplugh Rose Cottage was perfect. We wanted a place to stay that wasn't near the busier towns although they were only a short drive and somewhere to come back to warm and cosy. We did exactly that. Plenty of space for a small family and everything was lovely. If I could only one thing, we struggled to find kindling to light the open fire as just paper and coal doesn't really work but we eventually found some around out and about. Might be an idea to provide a little in the basket for town mice...lol like ourselves. We are considering converting now though to country mice :)

We will be booking with you again.

Hello Debbie, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It's a gem of a cottage, isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while. Thank you also for your feedback regarding the kindling - this is usually provided, so I am not sure what has happened this time. I'll ensure that this available for guests moving forward, but if you are ever missing something during a stay with us, please do get in touch with me and I'll do all I can to help. Come back any time, you can be sure of a very warm welcome.
