This is an ideal property for visiting this area with walks from the door, lake district attractions within easy driving and the amenities of Penrith Close by. The cottage was really well prepared with additional measures in place for COVID-19, it was comfortable, well equipped and a welcome pack provided.

A delightful stay made all the better by the lovely Terence who kindly helped out with my inconvenient requests ( I was challenged by the gas fire!) ... it’s a cosy cottage and very clean. Due to Covid all the DVD’s have been removed so... if you need to stay in because of bad weather... I recommend you bring along your own stash!! The TV channels are limited.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Stayed 6 nights with our dog Bruce. The owners are just next door and are very friendly and helpful. The river eamont is facing the cottage out of the gates, and a lovely long walk is available all the way down it. The cottage was roomy yet cosy. Amenities inside where spot on. If i had to be picky, there was a few spider webs in the rooms and corners, but nothing too bad. I would also recommend changing the main double bedroom mattress as it is extremely firm and I found i didnt sleep too well which is why I have put it as a 7. That aside we would most definitely book here again!

Kitchen has all pots and pans we needed. It also has a freezer available in the utility closet along with a washing machine and air dryer rack.

We loved the fireplace for cosy nights infront of the telly and it was very easy to use.

Couches and chairs very comfortable.

The garden is fully enclosed, and also has a side garden with a small gate which is completely paved. This was useful for our dog so when he did his business it was away from the owners plants and grass.

Two pubs are within a 2 minute walking distance across the bridge, and there are also plenty of shops within a 5 to 15 min drive around such as aldi, kfc, bnm, booths, Iceland, pets and home, Morrisons and home bargains.

Right next to the cottage is a large field where horses occasionally roam, which is beautiful to look at and a pleasant change compared to seeing city cars and buildings all day!

Overall this is likely to be our frequent holiday home away from home as we found being here comfortable, easy to navigate the area, plenty of stores for our needs, and friendly hosts.

Thanks! Rebecca&Nathan&Bruce the Dog.

Hi Rebecca, Nathan and Bruce! Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? And the location is idyllic, I bet Bruce was in his element with all those walks on the doorstep!
I'm sorry to hear that the cleanliness could have been better, I'l make sure I address that with the cleaner. Thank you for your feedback about the mattress too, I'll look into that.
I hope you can plan a return visit soon, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
