Was a superb cottage and great value for money. Great location, clear instructions on how to use everything. Very practical approach- we had dogs with us and there was a "dog room" with towels etc for use. Lovely Log fire. Owners were on hand if need be and if you are looking for a great retreat with peace and quiet this is it. There is also a great Chinese takeaway in cockermouth which is only 10-15 minutes drive so handy if you don't want to cook. Would highly recommend.

This cottage is a credit to the owner. It is truly stunning and we didnt want to leave. If you like rural then this will be right up your street. Cosy log burner, quirky features, wild meadow field, private enclosed woodland for walking the dog, just beautiful. Close to keswick, cockermouth and the stunning local mountains. Would love to stay at this property in the summer months. We will be back, thank you.

Fabulous place to stay. Absolute comfort and largely had everything we needed. Only gave an 8 on equipment for simple things ie no bin bags and only one tiny chopping board which when cooking for six was tricky. The views are just splendid and the boot room a blessing with 6 pairs of boots and dirty dogs. You could have a fab holiday never needing the car. We ventured out to enjoy the wider area and walks and the beautiful towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are just a very short journey away. The enclosed area at the top of the garden is just fab for the dogs to have a run around knowing they’re safe however the roads are so quiet we wandered freely with them off lead anyway. The small woods at the bridge just 1 km from the house on the road you come in on are also a great little place for a quick wander with the pooches. If you have dogs and love walking this place is perfect.

Hi Rachel, thank you for taking the time to write a review. It sounds like you had a wonderful relaxing holiday! It's a real home from home isn't it? And the location is perfect for heading out exploring. I'm glad you enjoyed Cockermouth and Keswick, they're both lovely little towns with a great choice of pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants. I bet the dogs were in their element too with all those amazing walks! I hope you can all come back for some more adventures in the Lakes soon.
