Ravencroft is one of our NEW COTTAGES!

Dating back to the 1700s, Ravencroft was once a coaching inn but now offers welcoming accommodation for up to 8 people. Light, bright and airy, inside is a large kitchen-diner and a lovely living room with a cosy electric fire and wonderful window seat. There’s also a handy WC on the ground floor too. Upstairs on the first floor are the 4 bedrooms, one of which has its own fantastic en-suite shower room, and the modern family bathroom. Outside you’ll find parking for 4 cars, lockable storage for bikes and a lovely garden with lawn and patio areas. There's also an electric car charger that you can make use of if you're bringing an electric car with you.

Ravencroft can be found just outside of the village of Plumpton, in the picturesque Eden Valley. With easy access to the motorway and with the Lake District and North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty close by, there’s plenty to and do during your stay. Explore some of the local footpaths and bridleways that crisscross the area before enjoying lunch at the popular Pot Place Garden Centre just down the road in Plumpton. For a spot of culture, visit the nearby historic house and beautiful gardens of Hutton in the Forest, or why not book a tee-time at Penrith Golf Course? A scenic 20 minute drive will take you to magnificent Ullswater; enjoy a peaceful lakeside picnic, try paddleboarding and wake surfing or hitch a ride on the popular "Steamer" to enjoy the water at a more leisurely pace.

Spend a day exploring the historic border city of Carlisle; from shops for a spot of retail therapy to museums and a castle for those with an interest in history, there's something for everyone here. If walking is more your thing, then a hike up Cross Fell, the highest mountain in the Pennines, is sure to please or head into The Lakes and tackle some of Alfred Wainwright’s famous list. Whatever you decide to do during your stay, Ravencroft is a great base from which to explore the area.
